Full Tilt Get’s It’s Gaming License Suspended

Full Tilt’s license to run online poker games was officially suspended by the Alderney Gaming Control Commission on the 29th of June , 2011. Full Tilt Poker closed to US players on April 15th, but will close down completely soon. This is a huge announcement as Full Tilt has long been one of the biggest names in online poker.

A lot of players have been wondering is Full Tilt Poker still operating? Full Tilt’s site is currently still running but the poker client is not operating at this time. The AGCC released a statement saying that “The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation.”

It remains to be seen if this will have any effect on PokerStars which is still running as normal apart from no longer allowing US players.

It also remains to be seen if Full Tilt will close down completely or be taken over by another company looking to buy one of the biggest brand names in online poker. Either way it is unfortunately not likely to re-open to US players.

Full Tilt Could Be Getting Bought Out By A European Investors

A Full Tilt Poker takeover may yet be on the cards. How-To-Play-Poker.com has learned Full Tilt Poker may possibly get bought out by a group of European investors and that the site could be getting it’s license back from the Alderney Gaming Control Commission sooner than was expected. The AGCC is possibly already in talks with Full Tilt and an unnamed third party group about potentially buying out and taking over the site.

There are not many details at this point and things are still in the early stages. Although nothing has yet been officially confirmed things certainly sounds more promising for Full Tilt users than they did a week or so ago.

We will post the latest news as soon as there are any developments so stay tuned to How To Play Poker News.
